This week has seen a solid amount of progress on the attic. I have completed a third lighting pass, darkening the scene increasing the atmosphere, allowing the lighting to have more of a dramatic impact rather than a washed out super bright scene. I also completed my final blockout stage, next up is final asset implementation, exciting times ahead...

Here is a screengrab of the progress so far, I'm extremely proud of how far this has come in the amount of time I have spent on it. Having the lighting darkened has really helped create atmosphere already and no assets are even modelled yet. This shows how much lighting can affect a scene and how important it is, I will be dedicating a week at the end of the project to make sure that the lighting is nailed. Thankfully I have already been iterating on the lighting therefore it wont be as much of a big task towards the end of the project.
In the week I have produced some final meshes for Zone 1, this being a Cassette Tape and a collection of books. I created these meshes now as I believed that they would be fulfilling a sense of accomplishment seeing some final meshes in engine and the fact that they can be used universally in the attic.
Some camera angles were also created this week, these being the main shots of each Zone. After some peer feedback I was inspired to create some camera shots early on so that I am aware of what would be deemed more important when creating the final meshes. Having camera shots grants me the ability to visualise where shadows will be allowing me to decide the amount of detail going into the assets that would be placed in said areas.
Above shows two closeups of the final meshes created this week. I was glad to see these meshes complete and in engine, however once I had them in I realised that maybe I was breaking down into Zones too quickly and should focus on the larger furniture pieces first before working on clutter. That said, I will be making the main furniture pieces next week for each zone, once I have them modelled, unwrapped and textured I will then come back to working on clutter assets for each zone. By making the larger meshes first I will see more of a change in the environment which I believe will be highly motivating.
