This week I have been developing my second pass of the blockout. With the now correct scaling I have been creating a blockout to help visualise the scene in full. I had been struggling with time management this issues, trying to balance my team project with the workload of this module has been difficult. There have been times were I will work late into the night even though I started working at 9am, the trello board has been useful at managing my tasks and progress throughout the week.

Above shows the development of the scene, I haven't made as much progress as I would've liked this week but what I have done has been useful in terms of organisation and planning ahead. I created a skirting board modular kit however once I had pieced it together in engine issues occurred with the lighting and shadows. Therefore I went back into maya and made the skirting board pieces into singular longer meshes, doing this also helped with decreasing the draw-calls in the scene further optimising it.

I encountered an issue when developing the scene where I would jump to and from different areas of the room. To counter this issue I have divided the scene into 4 zones, as shown in the collage above.

- Zone 1 (Desk / Workspace)

- Zone 2 (Living Area / Bed)

- Zone 3 (Wardrobe)

- Zone 4 (Bathroom)

Having these areas divided allows me to concentrate my focus into zones enabling the completion of the room to be more consistent. My focus for next week will be Zone 1 and producing the final surface assets for eg. Desk, Side Table, TV stand, shelving. I will also apply some placeholder textures for the floor and walls.
